The identical twin teachers who were secretly art thieves did rather take me by surprise because I was pretty sure nothing like that ever happened at MT! But I can see why they needed more than book 3 had to give them - I am sorry, though, that it meant sacrificing the Bill & Miss Peters thing, which was pretty much the main thing I liked from that book.
