We've encountered three Dear Brutuses in the last few months. Firstly, there was the play of that name which we saw before Christmas (https://grondfic.dreamwidth.org/9519.html). Now there's the Thing Itself - those actual words spoken by Cassius in Julius Caesar at the Bridge Theatre; and finally those same words spoken in a very different setting (but in an apposite way) in Long Day's Journey into Night at Wyndhams.

All in all; this production completely won me over. I'd had doubts about a Shakespeare play in modern dress, featuring gender-swapped roles, including a rock-band, and having no interval. Every one of these aspects worked; and worked unashamedly. A wonderful experience.
